Anti-Racism delivery plan costs: FOI release

Information requested

I am writing in relation to the Scottish Government’s Anti-Racism Delivery Plan 2026-2030, as published on your website. Please provide the following information:

1. The total staff time spent drafting, developing, and consulting on the Scottish Government’s Anti-Racism Delivery Plan 2026-2030 along with either the actual cost of that staff time or, where actual costs are not recorded, an estimation of the cost based on the relevant salary grades.

2. Any external costs incurred in producing Scottish Government’s Anti-Racism Delivery Plan 2026-2030 (e.g. consultants, communications, design or printing).

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we do not have the information are explained below.

Question 1

It is not possible to provide you with the total Scottish Government staff time or cost associated with developing the Anti-Racism Delivery Plan 2026-2030. This is because this relates to work which was taken forward by civil servants as part of their normal duties supporting the Scottish Government and in line with usual practice, details of individual tasks carried out by civil servants, including the number of hours spent on them, are not routinely recorded as there is no business need to do this.

This is a formal notice under S.17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.

Question 2

The Scottish Government paid £9,613.16 to publish the Anti-Racism Delivery Plan 2026-2030.
