Could you supply all correspondence received by the Scottish Government from For Women Scotland, and any briefings written which mention For Women Scotland, between February 1 2026 and March 30 2026?

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under section(s) under section(s) s.38(1)(b) (personal information), s.30 (b)(i) (provision of advice) of FOISA applies to that information.

Section 38(1)(b) –personal data of a third party

An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption

Section 30(b)(i) and (ii) – Free and frank provision of advice and exchange of views

An exemption under sections 30(b)(i) and 30(b)(ii) of FOISA applies to some of the information requested.

Section 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice) applies because disclosure of this information would, or would be likely to, inhibit substantially the provision of advice in the future. Officials and advisers need to be able to provide Ministers with full, candid and properly considered advice, including on sensitive or potentially contentious issues. Disclosure of such material is likely to make officials more reluctant to provide frank or detailed advice in future, which would undermine the quality of the decision-making process.
