1. The full membership list of SCIEG from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request, including names, professional affiliations, and organisational roles where recorded.

2. The dates of all SCIEG meetings held from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request.

3. Any minutes, notes, summaries, agendas, action points, or papers from SCIEG meetings held from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request.

4. Any conflict of interest declarations made by SCIEG members, attendees, advisers, or external contributors from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request.

5. Any conflict of interest policy or declaration process applied to SCIEG members or attendees.

6. Any recorded information showing whether Jacqueline Cooney, Jill Best, Linda Strachan, John Elder, Ashton Collins, SMASG, JCCP, BAMAN, BCAM, Save Face, or any representative of those bodies attended, advised, contributed to, or corresponded with SCIEG from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request.

7. Any recorded information showing whether independent aesthetic practitioners or non-statutoryregulated practitioners were invited to participate in SCIEG or any related advisory process from 1 January 2022 to the date of this request.

8. Any recorded information explaining why independent aesthetic practitioners were or were not included in SCIEG or related advisory work.

In addition to the information released in the above FOIs, we have identified the following update in regards to the declaration of interests from SCIEG member, Lesley Blair from the British Association of Beauty and Cosmetology UK (BABTAC). Ms Blair declared the following interests on 25 March, 2024.

Question 5

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for relating to the management of interests, or relating to any conflict of interests. Members of SCIEG were invited to join the group because of their relevant expertise. It is expected that members would have interests to declare, and other roles related to their expertise. Such interests, and/or the existence of other relevant roles, do not necessarily constitute a conflict of interest.

As such, I hereby provide you with formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

Question 6

All details of who attended, advised, contributed to or corresponded with SCIEG is available in the SCIEG minutes and other information released in the links above. As stated previously, under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.

Questions 7 and 8

Information on SCIEG membership is available in the links above. There is no recorded information on decisions taken regarding the inclusion, or not, of other practitioners. This is therefore a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
