Serious Organised Crime Task force Progress Report information on Scottish Consolidated Fund (SCF): FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Please advise if there are any publicly available sources consolidating all asset recovery in Scotland akin to this Home Office bulletin for England, Northern Ireland and Wales? I'm interested in different civil and criminal asset recovery types (namely: Criminal Confiscation, Civil Recovery, Cash Forfeiture, Account Forfeiture, Listed Assets).

Response

Currently there is no such equivalent bulletin for Scotland. However the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce Progress Report, which is published annually, contains the total amount remitted to the Scottish Consolidated Fund (SCF) through criminal confiscation and civil recovery under POCA; it also provides civil recovery receipts disaggregated into asset recovery, cash forfeiture, account freezing orders and listed assets. The most recent version can be found at Detect - Serious Organised Crime Taskforce Progress Report 2025 - gov.scot.

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
