Employee benefit statistics for Scottish Government staff at C2 or higher grade: FOI release

Information requested

Please send me the total number of Scottish Government staff at C2 grade or above who are in receipt of employee benefits on top of their salary.
For example, petrol or accommodation costs for working from their designated home office.

Response

The Scottish Government publishes workforce information on a quarterly basis which can be accessed on the Scottish Government homepage. The response is, therefore, based on the most recently published data, which was 31st December 2025.

As at 31 December 2025, there were 1,227 Scottish Government employees at C2 grade and above within the core Scottish Government Directorates. Details of the Core Directorates of the Scottish Government can be found in Annex A.
