First Minister correspondence including the phrase “energy bills” or “electricity bills”: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

All correspondence sent or received by the First Minister (or his office) which includes the phrase “energy bills” or “electricity bills” between 8 October 2025 and 2 April 2026.

Response

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested.

Some of the information you have requested is available online. Hyperlinks have been provided in Annex B to this response letter. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under sections 29(1)(a) (formulation or development of government policy), 30(b)(i) (free and frank provision of advice) and 33(1)(c) (substantial prejudice to economic interests of the United Kingdom) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why these exemptions apply are explained in Annex A to this letter.
