Transport Scotland - Financial support provided to Loganair Limited: EIR release

Information request and response under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.


Information requested

A report on support provided by Transport Scotland to Loganair Limited for the most recent completed financial year.

Please provide a breakdown of:

1. Total annual grant payments for all PSO routes from Stornoway to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

2. Total reimbursement paid to Loganair under the Air Discount Scheme (ADS).

3. Any other direct subsidies or emergency "lifeline" funding provided during this period.

Response

I enclose the information regarding the individual queries.

  • Total annual grant payments for all PSO routes from Stornoway to Edinburgh and Glasgow - This is a formal notice under the terms of the exception at regulation 10(4)(a) of the EIRs (information not held), the Scottish Government is not required to provide information which it does not have. There has been no grant payments on PSO routes from Stornoway to Edinburgh and Glasgow as there are no PSO routes in existence from Stornoway to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
  • Total reimbursement paid to Loganair under the Air Discount Scheme (ADS) - £13,178,045.22
  • Any other direct subsidies or emergency "lifeline" funding provided during this period - £7,176,706.27 in relation to the Glasgow to Campbeltown, Tiree and Barra air services.
