Ownership responsibility for the eESS database and its design: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Can you please advise who has ownership responsibility for the database and its design?

Response

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for.

As noted in our previous response, the eESS system is operated locally by NHS Boards as part of their HR systems. The Scottish Government does not have access to the system or responsibility for its database design.

However, ownership and responsibility for the national eESS system sits with NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), who manage and support the system on behalf of NHSScotland. You may therefore wish to contact NHS National Services Scotland directly, as they may hold the information you are seeking. They can be contacted at nss.foi@nhs.scot
