Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
You asked for a breakdown of the numbers of female police officers taking redundancy or voluntary early retirement from Police Scotland and a corresponding figure for their male counterparts.
You also asked for the number of firearms-trained officers and armed-response unit officers taking early retirement, redundancy or compromise deal packages broken down by gender.
Response
While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
To note, officers are not able to take voluntary redundancy and are not able to be made redundant. Officers can resign or retire from the service but we also do not hold the information on retirements as it is a matter for Police Scotland.
You may wish to contact Police Scotland at foi@scotland.police.uk who may be able to help you.
