Any emails containing the words "Jordan Linden" and "SNP" sent between September 21, 2019, and July 27, 2022.

Response

We have interpreted this request as you asking for any emails that contain the words "Jordan Linden" and "SNP" within the body of the email. Emails from Mr Linden, rather than about him, such as emails he has sent to the Scottish Government on behalf of constituents, have been deemed as out of scope. If your request was intended to include such emails, please feel free to make another request. Please note however, any documents will be subject to exemptions of FOISA, such as personal data relating to third parties.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA (personal information) applies to some of the information requested.

This exemption applies to some of the information requested because it is personal data of a third party, i.e. the names and contact details of individuals, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018. This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

Information has also been redacted from emails that is out of the scope of your request.
