GP walk-in centre information: FOI release

Information requested

1. Has any money been spent yet on these centres? Let me know how much if the money has been spent and for what so far.

2. Has locations for the GP walk-in centres been chosen yet? If they have let me know where. Also let me know if land has been secured for each one.

3. Does the Scottish Government have a expected opening date for any of the centres yet? If so state the planned date for the first one to open.

4. Are buildings that already exist going to be used or will new ones be built, or both?

Response

1. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. This is because our only cost to date has been staff costs for time spent on development work. As Scottish Government officials work on a wide range of policies and do not record the time spent on any particular aspect, we cannot provide an estimate of how much policy development has cost.

2. The Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre was announced as a location on the 15th of January. Other sites will be announced in due course. Guidance requested that Boards make use of existing buildings.

3. The site at Wester Hailes Healthy Living Centre is scheduled to open in February 2026.

4. As above, guidance requested that Boards make use of existing buildings.
