List of Justice and Home Affairs briefing materials concerning Alexis Jay correspondence and parliamentary record: FOI release

A list of all ministerial briefing submissions, advice notes, or internal summaries provided to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs between 26 September 2025 and the 11th of December which relate to:

• the letter sent by Professor Alexis Jay to the Cabinet Secretary on 26 September
• any consideration of correcting or clarifying the parliamentary record
• any handling of the Alexis Jay correspondence

For each document, please provide only:

• the document title
• the document reference number (if applicable)
• the date it was sent
• the directorate or team that authored it
• the recipient(s)

You specifically did not request the content of the advice.

Response

The information you requested has been set out in the Annex below which contains a list of four submissions that have been deemed to be within the scope of your request. The Annex includes (a) the document title, (b) the document reference number (if applicable), (c) the date it was sent, (d) the directorate or team that authored it and (e) the recipient(s), for the six documents relevant to; all ministerial briefing submissions, advice notes, or internal summaries provided to the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Home Affairs between 26 September 2025 and the 11th of December which relate to (a) the letter sent by Professor Alexis Jay to the Cabinet Secretary on 26 September, (b) any consideration of correcting or clarifying the parliamentary record, and (c) any handling of the Alexis Jay correspondence.

An exemption under section 38(1) (b) of FOISA applies to some of the information that you have requested. This exemption relates to personal information and as such, the names of officials have been redacted.
