Additional Support Needs (ASN) and Getting it right for every child (GIRFEC) information for the Highlands: FOI release

Information requested

Any recorded information held by the Scottish Government’s ASN/GIRFEC policy officials from 01 January 2024 – present that relates specifically to Highland Council or NHS Highland, limited to the items below:

1. Any concerns, issues, or risks recorded about:

• delivery of GIRFEC in the Highland region
• multi-agency coordination for children with neurodevelopmental needs
• delays or failure in delivering Additional Support Needs (ASN) support

2. Any correspondence (emails, briefings, or letters) between Scottish Government officials and:

• Highland Council, or
• NHS Highland

regarding GIRFEC implementation or ASN service delivery.

3. Any summaries, notes, or reports (internal or external) that mention:

• risks to children arising from delays in ND assessment
• concerns about alignment between NDAS/CAMHS and educational support
• system pressures affecting Highland’s GIRFEC compliance
