Accountant in Bankruptcy's Vulnerable Person’s Policy information: FOI release
Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
1. The AiB’s Vulnerable Person’s Policy - as applicable at any time since October 2017 & all relevant instructions and guidance as to how the said Vulnerable Person Polic(ies) are required to be interpreted and acted upon by:
- AiB staff.
- subcontractor agents.
2. Confirmation as to whether (or not) such compliance is also contractually required by solicitors acting with the AiB’s authority.
Response
1. The AiB's Vulnerable Person's Policy is attached at Annex A which was agreed by the AiB Senior Management Team in November 2018.
It was published in March 2019 and last updated in September 2023. This was available to stakeholders on our previous external website. Our Communications Team is currently producing an accessible version to meet the requirements of our new website.
The guidance issued to AiB Staff is attached at Annex B.
The guidance issued to AiB Providers is attached at Annex C.
2. I can confirm compliance with the policy is not contractually required by solicitors acting with the AiB’s authority.
