Information requested
1. How many lead teachers are employed across Scotland?
2. How many lead teachers are employed in each local authority in Scotland?
3. How many lead teacher vacancies have been advertised by local authorities in the last five years
Response
1. and 2. As at the 2024 teacher census (the latest for which statistics are available), there were 10.56 full-time equivalent (FTE) lead teachers in publicly funded schools in Scotland. Of these 3.5 FTE were in Aberdeenshire and 7.06 FTE were in Scottish Borders. This information relates to the substantive grade of teachers and does not include those on temporary promotion.
3. The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
