Information on how much money the Sottish Government has handed to private schools in each of the last five years, with a breakdown per year, what school/s got the money and what for.

I enclose below a copy of the information you requested. The information provided below covers all of the funding provided to independent schools by the Scottish Government that was identified in our searches.
The Scottish Government provides funding support to St Mary's Music School under the The St Mary’s Music School (Aided Places) (Scotland) Regulations 2015. This funding is provided to remove potential barriers for eligible children and young people who wish to attend St Mary's Music School and assists with the cost of tuition and boarding fees for a eligible students. Funding is provided on an academic year basis and the total funding provided to the school for the last five full academic/school years and for the current year to date, is as follows:

*Note - This funding is provided to the school in instalments and the figure for 2025-26 represents part payment only.
In addition to the above, exceptional one-off payments were provided to teachers and lecturers who supported the Alternative Certification Model for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher qualifications during the 2020-21 academic session. This payment recognised the additional workload involved in the delivery, assessment and moderation of these National Qualifications during the Covid-19 response.
Additional funding was provided to Local Authorities and, for Independent and Grant-Aided Schools, directly to the schools as employers. The funding provided to independent schools was based on completed claims and is set out in the table which is attached to this reply.
