Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
Information requested
We are making a request under the above Act for information relating to the A77 between hapeldonan and Dipple. In particular, we require the following information:-
1. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing all reports of any defects on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple the from August 2023 to August 2025
2. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing any remedial work carried out on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple August 2023 to August 2025
3. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing the inspection regime and records on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025
4. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing all maintenance tasks undertaken on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025
5. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing any reported complaints in relation to the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025
6. Information including sight of any written or electronic communication detailing any reports of incidents occurring on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025
Response

1. Please see Annex A to this response for details of reported defects on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple the from August 2023 to August 2025.
2. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Transport Scotland does not have the information you have requested. Transport Scotland does not have the information you have asked for because our Operating Company, Amey, who managed and maintain the SW trunk road on our behalf, advise there have been no planned remedial works, however there are records of road defects (see Annex A) in the period August 2023 to August 2025. This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.
This exemption is not subject to the 'public interest test', so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.
3. Please see Annex B to this response outlining dates inspections were carried out on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025.
4. Please see Annexes C and D to this response for details of maintenance tasks undertaken on the A77 between Chapeldonan and Dipple from August 2023 to August 2025.
