Response
Decisions on the purchase and use of digital devices are made by local authorities in line with their own digital and education strategies. As a result, we do not hold detailed information on this centrally. However, through our engagement work, we are aware of 10 Local Authorities across Scotland who provide 1:1 devices for secondary age pupils.
Those Local Authorities are:
- City of Edinburgh Council
- Falkirk Council
- Glasgow City Council
- Scottish Borders Council
- Midlothian Council
- Highland Council
- Aberdeen City Council
- Stirling Council
- West Dunbartonshire Council
- Fife Council
If you require further information about the types of devices (e.g., iPads, Chromebooks) provided through 1:1 initiatives, we recommend contacting the relevant local authorities directly, as they are best placed to provide this information.
