Transport Scotland - McGill’s Midland Bluebird funding information: FOI release

Information requested

Public funding allocated to McGill’s Midland Bluebird for the year 2024. Specifically, I would like to know the total amount of funding provided and any breakdown of the funding sources if available.

Response

In the financial year 2024/25 McGill’s Midland Bluebird received £1,214,759.52 with regard to the Network Support Grant. This is a discretionary grant, which is available to eligible commercial and community bus operators to support the maintenance of Scotland’s bus network for the benefit of passengers, by keeping fares more affordable and networks more extensive than would otherwise be the case.

In the financial year 2024/25 McGill’s Midland Bluebird also received £894,798 from the Scottish Zero Emission Bus Challenge Fund. This was the second and final phase of the Fund (ScotZEB 2).
