A84 traffic speed survey costs: FOI release

You asked for the following information:

“Please provide me with a detailed cost breakdown for the traffic speed survey carried out on the A84 through Callander between 13 and 19 April 2024, including consultation (prior to or during the survey), staffing, equipment, analysis and any other costs.”

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance Transport Scotland does not have some of the information you have requested. The reasons why we don't have the information are explained below.

The data was procured to support the roll out of 20mph speed limits in the Perth & Kinross and Stirling Council areas. No consultation was carried out prior to or during the survey period at A84 Callander by the Operating Company. No cost breakdown was provided by the Operating Company’s specialist subcontractor for staffing, equipment, analysis, or any other costs.

We can provide information on the total cost of the survey which we hope is useful. The total survey costs of £7,181.92 included 7-day speed and classified vehicle counts at seven locations on the A84/A85 trunk roads in March and April 2024: A84 Callander, A84 Strathyre, A85 Methven, A85 Crieff, A85 Comrie, A85 St Fillans, and A85 Crianlarich.
