Any recorded information held by the Scottish Government on discussions between it and Scottish Local Authorities on the allocation of funding for the UK's Pride in Place Programme funding allocations.

Response

In regard to your first request, there had been no discussions between the Scottish Government and UK Government on what and how the Pride in Place Programme funding would be allocated to Scotland’s places. However, we have conducted a thorough search of any recorded information held between the Scottish Government and UK Government, of which the following information can be considered in scope of your request. These include:

  • Item 1: Emails found between SG and UKG Scotland Office in relation to the Spending Review announcements in June, detailing UKG plans to confirm delivery arrangements for the ‘Pride in Place’ initiatives.
  • Item 2: A letter from UKG Secretary of State for Scotland and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government to SG Deputy First Minister on the Pride in Place Strategy announcement.
  • Item 3: A response letter from SG Deputy First Minister to UKG Secretary of State for Scotland and Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government on the Pride in Place Strategy announcement.
  • Item 4: An email chain between SG and UKG Scotland Office on the Pride in Place Programme announcement in September.

Please note that for all documents attached, Section 38(1)(b) of FOISA has been applied. The reasons why that exemption applies are explained in Annex (Section 2) to this letter.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide any information to your second request because an exemption under Section 17(1) of FOISA applies. The reasons why that exemption applies are explained in Annex (Section 1) to this letter. There is no information found on record of correspondence between the Scottish Government and local authorities on this matter.
