Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.
Information requested
1) As of 01.07.25, how many former police officers have been issued with their Remedy Statements?
2) The SPPA has publicly stated that those former officers will receive their Remedy Statements by 01.07.25, what information is available regarding the planned schedule of any not issued?
3) Further to Request 2 above, what is the specific nature of outstanding documentation permitting delay in the provision of Remedial Statements?
4) As repeated FOI requests have been submitted to SPPA requesting similar information, to Request 1 above, what information do you have as to why such information is not regularly published proactively?
Response
1) Remediable Service Statement (RSS) data for week commencing 30 June 2025 was validated on 03 July 2025. On 03 July 2025, 4,308 retired Police Officers had been issued with an RSS.
2) SPPA are issuing letters by email and post to any former Officers who have not yet been sent an RSS, which will explain in more detail individual circumstances and what the SPPA are doing to make things right.

4) SPPA are not obliged to publish information on the numbers of retired officers issued with an RSS.
