1. The list of all job titles in the Honours and Protocols Team

2. The current management structure (organogram or similar) of the ‘Honours and Protocols Team’, no staff personal names are required however job titles would be appreciated

3. Current job descriptions of those roles in the Honours and Protocols Team, exact salaries are not required however general pay scale would be appreciated

Response

1 & 2. Please see attached Organisation Chart for the Protocol and Honours Team.

3. Pay scales for the grades within the Protocol & Honours team can be found on the organisation chart at Annex B (provided separately).

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information. The reasons why that exemption applies are explained in the Annex to this letter.

While individual job descriptions cannot be provided for the reasons explained at the Annex, the key responsibilities of the team are to provide Scottish Government oversight of all Royal and Ceremonial events and activity in Scotland including maintaining relationships with The Royal Households and acting as principal contact for the Lord Lieutenants and Clerks across Scotland; supporting the Deputy Director in their role as the Secretary of Commissions in their responsibilities to the Commissioners for the safeguarding of Scottish regalia, and for oversight of Scottish honours nominations.
