Response

I enclose a copy of the information you requested.

The answer to your question is: The paragraph you refer to in your request is contained within guidance published in April 2022 by the National Autism Implementation Team (NAIT) titled: "Prescribing ADHD medication to adults following a private sector diagnosis in Scotland".

The guidance was drafted in consultation with practising Psychiatrists, the Royal Colleges of Psychiatry and General Practitioners as well as individuals with ADHD.

Scottish Government officials and appropriate professional advisor also had email dialogue with NAIT prior to publication.
