International Techscaler programme trips (hubs): FOI release

Information requested

Please provide details of all recorded international trips or "hubs" undertaken as part of the Techscaler programme as follows:

I would like full details of all the guests on each of these trips and their business names. This should include the names of the CodeBase employees who went on each trip and, if possible, what role they had on the trip. Please outline where the attendees stayed during the trip, as well as CodeBase employees. If CodeBase employees stayed in separate locations, please provide details of this.

Please provide a cost breakdown for hotels and flights for each of the trips. Please also detail where, if at all, CodeBase employees or any other attendees paid for their own accommodation or flights and the amounts for this.

Please provide what details were provided to the Scottish Government about the partners of CodeBase employees attending the trips. What steps have been taken to ensure the partners paid for their trips and please provide evidence of this is possible?

I enclose a copy of most of the information you requested in the attached document.

​​​​​​​While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. I this instance we are also unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Please note that the response does not include details of the upcoming international programmes in Silicon Valley or Singapore as these costs are still to be finalised.
