Please tell me how much the Scottish Government spent on the 'Your Scotland - Your Referendum" Consultation in 2012.

Response

The Scottish Government has previously published details of costs associated with external contractors in connection with the “Your Scotland - Your Referendum" Consultation, in line with the requirement as part of the 2010-11 Budget Bill to publish details of all payments over £25,000. Due to the passage of time, this information is no longer available on our website however, the total costs paid to external contractors in connection with the “Your Scotland - Your Referendum" Consultation were £102,586.80.

It is not possible to provide you with details of internal costs because this was work taken forward by civil servants as part of their normal duties supporting the Scottish Government and in line with usual practice, details of individual tasks carried out by civil servants, including the number of hours spent on them, are not routinely recorded as there is no business need to do this. This is a formal notice under S.17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested.
