Information requested

How much did it cost the Scottish Government to produce/fund the “Anti-racism Action Plan for the Scottish Social Work Sector” (Anti-racism Action Plan for the Scottish Social Work Sector What we are going to do to make social work actively anti-racist - gov.scot)

Response

Thank you for your request for information regarding the cost associated with producing the Anti-Racism Action Plan for the Scottish Social Work Sector.

We can confirm that no specific funding was allocated by the Scottish Government to develop the content of the Action Plan.

Please note, the Plan was not produced by the Scottish Government. it was was co-produced by the Anti-Racism in Social Work Oversight Group, which comprised representatives from across the social work sector, including local government, professional organisations, trade unions, charities, NGOs, universities, and two Scottish Government officials.

The Group operated independently and met primarily online. The work was carried out remotely to support inclusive and effective collaboration. On the few occasions it met in person, meetings were held in Scottish Government buildings at no cost. No expenses or reimbursements were issued to participants either.

However, a cost was incurred for publishing the document online. This was managed through APS Group (Scotland) Ltd, the Scottish Government’s publishing contractor. The total cost for preparing the document for web publication, including accessibility checks, artwork, project management, publishing services, and web conversion, was:

  • Net price: £399.99
  • VAT: £80.00
  • Total cost: £480.00

This covered the preparation of a 10-page document for publication on the Scottish Government website, including conversion to accessible PDF and HTML formats.

I hope you find this information useful.
