Could you supply all documentation held by the Scottish Government, including correspondence sent and received (including internal), minutes/notes from meetings, briefings, analysis, which are to/from or mention swimmer Duncan Scott, from the last three months?

Point 1

In relation to point 1, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for, after conducting extensive searches there were no documentation held by the Scottish Government that mention swimmer Duncan Scott from the last three months.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

Point 2

In relation to point 2 I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section s.38(1)(b) (personal information) of FOISA applies to that information.

An exemption under section s.38(1)(b) Personal Information of FOISA applies to some of the information you have requested because it is personal data of a third party such as names and contact details, and disclosing it would contravene the data protection principles in Article 5(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation and in section 34(1) of the Data Protection Act 2018.

This exemption is not subject to the ‘public interest test’, so we are not required to consider if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.

Some of the information is you have requested is included in our response to a previous freedom of information request provided to you on 12 August 2025 with the reference 202500475999. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you.

Point 3

In relation to point 3, The Scottish Government provides funding for Scottish Governing Bodies of sport via sportscotland. t.

sportscotland publish their investment figures into Scottish Governing Bodies of sport and National partners. The below links will provide a breakdown of sportscotland investment into Scottish Swimming (referred to as Aquatics in the report).
