Energy Consent Unit employee qualifications: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Information requested

Could you please tell me the qualifications and experience held by the ECU staff who make decisions on planning applications whether they are relevant to the job or not. I'm not interested in the Scottish Ministers as I know what qualifications they have, or not as the case may be.

Response

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because this information is not held on our records.

As such, I hereby provide you with formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

However, you may find it useful to review the following information on the Civil Service Code and Civil Service Success Profiles. The Code sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all civil servants to uphold the Civil Service’s core values, which are integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality. The Civil Service recruits using Success Profiles, as they help give us the best possible chance of finding the right person for the job.

Staff within the ECU are required to demonstrate a broad skill set which is underpinned by relevant knowledge and expertise aligned with their roles. Ongoing training and development opportunities are provided to ensure consistently high standards of work and informed decision-making.
