A82 Lomdondgate roundabout accident statistics and traffic volumes: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

"I am writing to request detail on the number of accidents, serious injury and fatality on the section of the A82 from the Lomondgate roundabout to the Arden Roundabout.

I would be grateful if these statistics could be provided for the years from 2008 up until to 19th July 2025.

Additionally, I would be grateful to receive detail of the annual AADT values over the same period together for this section of road."

This request is made pursuant to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (Scotland) 2002 together with any relevant provisions that may appertain under the Environmental Information ( Scotland) Regulations 2004.

Response

The records we hold relate to collisions where someone is injured or killed, and which become known to Police Scotland. Therefore, we do not hold records relating to damage-only collisions.

Please note that any figures for 2024 and 2025 are provisional as they are based on monthly returns received thus far from Police Scotland, with the most recent returns being received up to 11 July 2025.

This may be an incomplete picture of casualties up to that date due to a slight lag between collisions occurring and records being processed and shared by Police Scotland. These figures are also subject to change due to subsequent corrections and late records.

Please see Annex A for information on personal injury collisions on the A82 between Lomondgate Roundabout and Arden Roundabout (including slip roads) from 2008 to 11 July 2025 (the latest date for which data is available).

Please see attached Annex B for information on AADT Values between 2008 and 2024.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because an exemption under section 17(a) for information not held of FOISA applies to that information. The reason why that exemption applies are because the 2025 data has not been included as the full annual period has not yet elapsed, and hence a fully accurate AADT cannot be calculated.
