You asked for "Please can I request the following information:

1. Across the last five years, how many instances have there been where Clyde and Hebrides ferry service have operated on a reduced service?

2. Across the last five years, how many how many Clyde and Hebrides ferries have been cancelled?

3. Across the last five years, how many instances have there been when the Northern Isles ferry service has operated on a reduced service?

4. Across the last five years, how many Northern Isles ferries have been cancelled?"

Response

For the response the answers have been provided using contract year which runs from July to June for Northern Isles and October to September for Clyde and Hebrides, not calendar year.

1. CY5-CY9* 01/10/2020-31/05/2025 (*CY9 data only available up to 31 May 2025) Of the 765,265 scheduled sailings there were 22,313 instances of reduced services.

2. CY5-CY9* 01/10/2020-31/05/2025 (*CY9 data only available up to 31 May 2025) - 52,231 services cancelled.

3. CY1-CY5 01/07/2020 - 30/06/2025 - Of the 15,263 scheduled sailings there were 584 instances of reduced services.

4. CY1-CY5 01/07/2020 - 30/06/2025 – 584 services cancelled.

Cancelled totals include all types of cancellations including weather.
