Scottish Government budget and Barnett consequentials: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

According to the Daily Record on October 2 last year, the Scottish Government received Barnett Consequentials from the UK Government extending its Household Support fund. How much did the government receive, and what has it been spent on?

Response

As part of the UK government supplementary estimates, we received 80.129 million in consequentials for 2024-25.

These funds contribute to the total consequentials, which form part of the overall Scottish Government Budget. Within the current Fiscal Framework, the Scottish Government determines how its total budget is allocated, with spending decisions clearly presented in key publications throughout the year.
