Diversity Staff Network information: FOI release

Information requested

All information you hold on how each of the Women’s Development Network, the Disabled Staff Network, the Faith and Belief Network, the LGBTI+ Network, the Race Equality Network, and the Socio Economic Development Network meet the expectations of Diversity Staff Networks, as set out in the extract quoted above from the Diversity Staff Network Support Framework.

You also quoted a paragraph from the Network Support Framework as previously shared in FOI 202500462504;

“the expectations of Diversity Staff Networks should include: clear routes for staff to join, raise issues, stay up to date, contribute ideas and volunteer to fill network roles. a transparent governance with clear leadership roles and organising structure including: named Chair(s) and Communication and/or Engagement lead(s) a committee, an inclusive selection process and succession plan for roles."

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not hold information on how all of the diversity networks meet the expectations of the Network Support Framework. Scottish Government Staff Diversity Networks are informal, voluntarily organised and self-sustaining communities of staff. The Framework is provided to networks as a set of expectations and it is up to each individual network to determine how they meet this. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, not all of this information is held and so this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have all the information you have requested. Additionally in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because exemptions under section 38(1) b of FOISA applies to that information.
