1. How many retired members of the Police pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS)?

2. To date how many RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Police pension scheme?

3. How many retired members of the Teachers pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS)?

4. To date how many RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Teachers pension scheme?

5. How many retired members of the Firefighter pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS)?

6. To date how many RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Firefighter pension scheme?

7. On your website, in the Firefighter section you have published a timetable of when RSS’s will be issued - “Our revised timetable means that we will start issuing RSS in April 2025 using our new automation process and anticipate delivering the majority of these by 31 August 2025. However, some RSS contain significant complexities which make them unsuitable for automation and these will be processed manually on a case by case basis. For these RSS we expect to complete delivery by 31 October 2025.” Can you confirm that this timetable is still current and likely to be met? A speedy response to this request would be appreciated.

Response

1. Approximately 5,400 retired members of the Police pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS).

2. As of 4 July 25, 4,308 RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Police pension scheme.

3. Approximately 17,000 retired members of the Teachers pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS).

4. As of 4 July 25, 0 RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Teachers pension scheme.

5. Approximately 2,100 retired members of the Firefighter pension scheme will receive a Remedial Service Statement (RSS).

6. As of 4 July 25, 0 RSS’s have been issued to retired members of the Firefighter pension scheme.

7. The current timetable of when RSS will be issued is published on our website. For Firefighters this can be found in the Remedy Hub at the following link: Firefighters | SPPA. If any of the dates change, our website will be updated to reflect the latest position.
