Information requested

For the Covid Inquiries Response Directorate, please provide:

1. What is the total value of current contracts you hold with external providers? Please provide data separately for the categories of goods, works and services.

2. Please provide a list of current contracts with external providers showing the name of the provider, the service provided, and the value of the contract. Please provide data separately for the categories of goods, works and services.

3. What was the total spend on externally provided services in the years 2024/25, 2023/24, 2022/23, 2021/22, 2020/21? Please do not include contracts for goods or works in this data set.

4. What was the total spend on externally provided services in 2010 and 2019? Please do not include contracts for goods or works in this data set.

For the purposes of this exercise, external provider means a predominately privately owned company. Majority or wholly public sector owned companies are not included in this definition.

Response

1. I am unable to provide the information you requested as the Covid Inquires Response Directorate does not hold any contracts with external providers. Therefore, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested. I have taken a current contract to be one which is live at the date of receipt of your request.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested because the Covid Inquires Response Directorate was not in existence until 2022. Therefore, this is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have all of the information you have requested. I have provided the available information you have requested in the table below. It may be helpful to clarify that the expenditure in the table below includes spend not incurred through contracts held by CIRD. I have provided the available information you have requested in the table below which shows total CIRD expenditure for each of the financial years running 1 st April to 31st March, on externally provided services.
