Victoria Quay Nursery premises queries: FOI release

Information requested

Under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004, I request the following information. In this email, references to “the nursery” mean the workplace nursery at Victoria Quay.

1) All correspondence between the Scottish Government (including but not limited to the Scottish Procurement and Property Directorate) and a) North Edinburgh Childcare Enterprise Ltd (SC210223) (“NECEL”) and b) North Edinburgh Childcare (SC193636) (“NEC”) in connection with the premises in Victoria Quay used to operate the nursery, including:

a) information about the adequacy or otherwise of the present premises

b) requests for access to additional accommodation within Victoria Quay

c) information about use of external areas at Victoria Quay

2) All correspondence and communications within the Scottish Government in connection with any such correspondence.

For the avoidance of doubt, the above request includes (but is not limited to) all information contained in handwritten notes, messages sent via Microsoft Teams and messages sent via Whatsapp or other messaging service.

2) I attach one document titled VQ Feasibility Presentation (Space Solutions) Slide Pack which was developed and includes a reference to the VQ nursery. An exemption under section 39(1) of FOISA – endangerment to health or safety – applies to some of the information provided. The provision of floors plans of buildings is sensitive information and creates a risk to the health, safety and security of those attending these buildings.
