Former Minister for Housing correspondence containing the word Balnagask: FOI release

All correspondence sent by or to the Minister for Housing (or his officials) since 29 March 2023 that contains the word Balnagask.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, some information in the enclosed document has been redacted because it falls outwith the scope of your request. These redactions are not made under FOISA exemptions but reflect content that is unrelated to the subject of your request.

In addition, we are unable to provide some the information you have requested because an exemption under section 29(1)(a) (formulation of government policy) applies to protect the decision-making process until a policy is ready for public scrutiny.

Some information is also exempt under section 38(1)(b) which applies to personal data.

The exemptions are subject to the ‘public interest test’.  Therefore, taking account of all the circumstances of this case, we have considered if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption.  We have found that, on balance, the public interest lies in favour of upholding the exemption.
