Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

  1. Details of the awards of funding made since 01 April 2024 from the Delivering Equally Safe Fund. This should include the names of organisations funded, the amounts and the period covered.
  2. Please also provide the funding applications and grant offer letters for Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre and Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis Centre.

Response

In response to your first question, enclosure 1 provides details of awards from the Delivering Equally Safe Fund, including organisations’ names, amounts and period covered from 2024-25. This document was previously released under FOISA and covers information for 3.5 years; you will find the time period April 2024 - March 2025 under the heading "Year 3". The funding breakdown from 2025-26 is available from here: Funding boost to tackle gender-based violence - gov.scot. Under section s.25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.

In response to your second question, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we are unable to provide some of the information you have requested in your second request because of exemptions under section s.33(1)(b) and s.38(1)(b) of FOISA applies to the information.
Please see details below:

Funding application from April 24 by Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre and Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre: An exemption under section 33(1)(b) of FOISA applies the information you have requested. This exemption applies because disclosure of this information would prejudice substantially the commercial interests of the applicants. Disclosing this information would be likely to give other applicants an advantage in future funding rounds, which would substantially prejudice the current successful applicants’ ability to submit applications and so could significantly harm their commercial business.

Grant Offer Letters issued to Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre and Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre: An exemption under section 38(1)(b) of FOISA has been applied to personal data contained in disclosures attached (enclosure 2, 3, 4 and 5). This exemption applies to personal data the disclosure of which would contravene data protection principles.
