Information requested

Records of international ministerial engagements, including foreign visits, meetings, official missions or events abroad, for the following individuals:

• Alex Salmond
• Fiona Hyslop
• Humza Yousaf

Specifically, you requested the date, location, purpose of the visit, and key individuals or organizations met.

Response

Ordinarily, the information you requested would be available through the web archive of the Scottish Government website (Ministerial engagements, travel and gifts: archive (pre - May 2016) - gov.scot).

However, Scottish Government officials are aware that due to a cyber attack on the British Library, the web archive is currently not accessible. Therefore, while our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government may not have some of the information you have requested.

This is because all documentation would have been stored on the web archive following guidance available at the time of publication. The archiving process for Scottish Government documentation has since changed, and while officials have made every reasonable effort to find the information you requested there is a possibility that presently-held records do not fully capture the records of the time.

Some of the information you have requested is available from the Scottish Parliament website under the parliamentary question reference: S4W-18829. Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
