Passenger information at Langside Station: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

Information requested

Would you be able to let me know what exactly the criteria these Service Quality would cover and what would be considered a fail?

Response

Transport Scotland monitors ScotRail and Caledonian Sleeper’s quality of service through the, customer focussed, Service Quality Inspection Regime (SQUIRE), While SQUIRE inspections provide indication of the quality of facilities at stations and on board of trains, they do not serve as a tool allowing Transport Scotland an ultimate authority for managing and monitoring ScotRail’s PA systems. That being said, any failures found by SQUIRE inspections, are required to be resolved by ScotRail as soon as possible.

SQUIRE criteria are published on Transport Scotland website, you can access the publication here: Service Schedules - ScotRail - Service Quality Inspection Regime | Transport Scotland

Under section 25(1) of FOISA, we do not have to give you information which is already reasonably accessible to you. If, however, you do not have internet access to obtain this information from the website(s) listed, then please contact me again and I will send you a paper copy.
