Information requested

You asked for the total cost for all bus passes in Scotland per annum.

Response

The total cost of the National Concessionary Travel Schemes (Young Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme and the Older and Disabled Persons’ Free Bus Travel Scheme) for the financial year 2024/25 was £363,430,815.27. This figure comprises reimbursements made to operators, implementation and ongoing operating costs. Please note that as operators have up to twelve months to claim for journey reimbursement, this figure may be subject to change.
