2. Any correspondence to Ministers or from Ministers regarding the closing of this framework.

3. Any reviews or evaluations on the framework that took place.

4. Details of consultations that took place with partner organisations and any other interested parties regarding the cessation of this framework.

Response

The Scottish Government launched Scotland CAN DO: Becoming a world-leading entrepreneurial and innovative nation in November 2013. This document set out the CAN DO approach to entrepreneurship and innovation and the focus of key priorities for the following three years. The framework was never formally closed and the Scottish Government continued to fund a number of organisations and programmes described in both the 2013 and 2014 documents beyond the initial 2016 commitment.

The Scottish Government has since published a series of new documents that have developed ourapproach to establishing Scotland as a leading start-up nation. These include the National Strategy for Economic Transformation, Pathways: A new approach for women in entrepreneurship and the National Innovation Strategy. These documents were developed with consultation from stakeholders within the wider ecosystem, including from the Scotland CAN DO collective.

The Scottish Government does not have the information you have asked for because, since the framework was never formally closed, there are no documents on record relating to its closure. We have also been unable to locate any documentation relating to a review of the 2013 and 2014 framework documents.
