Breakdown of funding to Climate Groups: EIR release

1. In each year since 2019-20, how much has the Scottish Government given to the following groups in funding (if any).

• Stop Climate Chaos Scotland
• Friends of the Earth
• Friends of the Earth Scotland
• Uplift
• Extinction rebellion
• Extinction rebellion Scotland
• Just Stop Oil
• Greenpeace

2. Please provide as much detail as possible in relation to Q1 (what funding was used for etc).

Internal searches confirm the following:

1. Grants to Stop Climate Chaos Scotland

• On 14 September 2021 the Scottish Government granted £20,000.00
• On 4 July 2022 the Scottish Government granted £18,393.27

2. These grants were provided in connection with the organisation and delivery of the Glasgow Climate Dialogues.

These dialogues were part of our COP26 work and provided an opportunity to Scottish civil society and the Scottish Government to engage in thematic discussions on issues of importance to the global south

The main objectives of the programme were to:

• Provide a platform for Global South governments and stakeholders to engage with the Scottish Government and Scottish stakeholders on key Global South priorities at COP26.
• Provide an opportunity to share learning on climate action between Scottish and International governments and organisations’;
• Engage the Scottish public to raise awareness and understanding of how the Global South is affected by climate change and how to support the action required to tackle global climate change.
