Information requested

  1. How many Scottish Government buildings have installed solar panels on part of the building? Please provide detail on how many panels exactly, how much energy they produce etc.
  2. Please provide as much detail as possible on how these panels were procured. From what company, how were they produced, how much did they cost in total etc.

6 buildings on the core Scottish Government estate have solar panels installed.

The panels were procured following competitive tender exercises in line with Scottish Government procurement rules. The tenders were carried out, and projects delivered by the Scottish Government's facilities management company Mitie.

The panels were produced by JA Solar for Tweedbank, Oban and Thainstone. The panels at Victoria Quay were produced by Solar World AG. The panels at SASA and St Andrews House were produced by Hanwha Q.CELLS
