Business Managers employed by the Scottish Government: FOI release

Under the Freedom on information, I am looking to find out how many business managers the Scottish Government has, and how much is spent on these managers per year?

Response

Within the Scottish Government business management happens at a variety of levels and is categorised with the job type business support. As of December 2024, the date of the latest published workforce statistics, there were 336 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff employed by the Scottish Government with a job type of Business Support.

The costs for the 336 FTE staff are captured below. These costs are from the October 2024 - December 2024 quarter. Unfortunately, we can't provide earlier data due to a change of a HR management information system (which came into effect the start of October 2024) that did not previously allow us to identify staff by professional role.
