You asked - "Please can you provide details of any guidance or correspondence issued within the Scottish Government to officials and ministers relating to the use of ChatGPT since this story was published by the New Scientist last week: Revealed: how the UK tech secretary Peter Kyle uses ChatGPT for policy advice | New Scientist."
Response
There has been no guidance or correspondence issued within the Scottish Government to officials and ministers relating to the use of ChatGPT, following the publication of the New Scientist article.
The Scottish Government has a well-established position on the use of Generative AI and supporting guidance which is available to all staff. The guidance aims to increase awareness of and mitigate the potential risks of using generative AI tools, whilst also encouraging the innovation and efficiency which we hope AI can deliver for the people of Scotland.
