The costs to run Primary Education and the costs to run Secondary Education.

Response

Statistics on the costs of operating Scottish schools can be found through the Scottish Government’s Local Government Finance Statistics collection. The most recently available finalised statistics cover the 2023-24 financial year, where full school spending statistics can be found in LFR01. In addition to these, the Scottish Government publishes local government provisional outturn and budget estimates, the most recently published of which cover the period up to 2024-25. Publication of budget estimates for 2025-26 is scheduled for June 2025 and these statistics will be made available on the Scottish Government’s Local Government Finance Statistics collection website upon publication.
