Information request and response under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004.
Information requested
Warm Homes funding awards by value and household for the last 3 years.
Response
As the information you have requested is ‘environmental information’ for the purposes of the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations 2004 (EIRs), we are required to deal with your request under those Regulations. We are applying the exemption at section 39(2) of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), so that we do not also have to deal with your request under FOISA.
This exemption is subject to the ‘public interest test’. Therefore, taking account of all the circumstances of this case, we have considered if the public interest in disclosing the information outweighs the public interest in applying the exemption. We have found that, on balance, the public interest lies in favour of upholding the exemption, because there is no public interest in dealing with the same request under two different regimes. This is essentially a technical point and has no material effect on the outcome of your request.
Unfortunately, your request does not provide the clarification that I requested in my letter dated 13 February 2025. As such, I have assumed that you wanted the level of Scottish Government funding into the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme for the past 3 years with the number of households supported.
A breakdown of the Scottish Governments investment over the last 3 years can be found below:
Year |
Spend |
Households supported |
2022/2023 |
£43m |
5,478 |
2023/2024 |
£59.75m |
4,973 |
2024/2025 |
£78.35m |
6,222 |
Please note that for year 2024/25 installations are still ongoing and these figures are as of January 2025.
