Traffic Scotland vehicle fleet information: FOI release

Information request and response under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.


Information requested

The number of vehicles in the department in 2024.

A breakdown of this information by make, model, fuel type and date of registration of each vehicle.

Information about plans to change the make-up of the fleet, in 2025, for example if a certain percentage of petrol and diesel powered vehicles will be changed for pure electric, plug-in hybrid or hybrid cars in 2025.

Response

Traffic Scotland is a Transport Scotland owned service that is delivered through a range of external contract providers. Transport Scotland / The Traffic Scotland Service does not directly own any vehicles.

Amey, who provide the Traffic Scotland Infrastructure Contract, has 15 Operational Vehicles in their fleet that are used to deliver the service.

Section 17(1) of FOISA (information not held) requires the Scottish Government to notify you if it does not have the information you requested. Transport Scotland does not have the information you have asked for because there are no defined plans to alter fleet make up in 2025, however this matter will continue to be discussed with Amey on an ongoing basis as required.
