Information requested

The death statistics via criminal acts for transgender people versus females in the last 5 calendar years 2019 to 2024.

Response

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance the Scottish Government does not have some of the information you have requested. Specifically, Scottish Government Justice Analytical Services do not possess the data pertaining to transgender status of homicide victims.

This is a formal notice under section 17(1) of FOISA that the Scottish Government does not have the information you have requested.

I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested in the format you asked for.

Please note that data for calendar year 2024 includes data from 1st January 2024 up to and including 31st March 2024. Data from 1st April 2024 up to and including 31st December 2024 will be available in October 2025 after publication of Homicide in Scotland 2024-25 Accredited Official Statistics.
